The challenge
SpiruChat connects people with spiritual consultants through paid, live chat. Messages have to arrive instantly on unreliable mobile connections, every answer is paid for with credits, and a small team has to keep every customer conversation moving without losing track of who did what.
What we built
We built the platform on Next.js running on Cloudflare Workers, with Durable Objects for real-time chat, D1 with Drizzle for data and R2 for images. Role-based access separates customers, consultants, moderators and admins. Moderators can answer as any consultant, while every message records who actually sent it, and email notifications are batched by Durable Object alarms so nobody is flooded.
The result
Chats reconnect automatically on unstable mobile networks, credit packages and weekly horoscopes are managed from the admin panel, and a team performance dashboard turns the message audit trail into payouts.
